contact — web-contact@pith.org, resume

greeting — Hello. I am guessing that you are here because you want to learn a bit more about me. Most likely, you got here because I gave you a card with this address on it. A bit of explanation, then, is in order. But only a bit. Please contact me for more details, or if you would like a new friend.

photographer — jessechannorris.com is home to my photography. Prints are available and I would be happy to work with you to produce lovely images for your home, office or skateboard.

writer — pith.org is my web site. Well, it is one of many, but you may use it as a starting off point. I write, and most of my writing is on the web. You can get a good feel for the kind of things that I write by perusing the offerings listed there.

theatre (design) — I am also a lighting designer. My work has been seen in the New York International Fringe Festival, the Edinburgh International Fringe Festival, in a studio production at the New York Theatre Workshop, and in various venues in New York, Boston and Providence.

theatre (tech) — I am also an electrician and have hung many a lighting instrument in my day. I am also fairly handy with a screwdriver and wire-cutters and am capable enough that connections that I wire generally don't come apart.

technology (code) — I have a degree in computer science, which means that I am good at making computers do what I want them to. And I am also pretty good at figuring out what needs to be done, and communicating what it is that needs to be done. I have been a freelance technology consultant for the past three years, mostly building database-backed websites (oh la la!) but also building opt-in mailing list applications and building web-based intranets for non-profit companies. My recent clients include Riverkeeper, V-Day (for whom I built the web application that coordinates all of their productions around the world) and SmartTix.

technology (networks) — I know my way around unix systems having worked with Linux and Solaris since 1995, both as an administrator and a programmer. On the other side of the wire, I have had extensive experience in actually building networks, having been on the terminating end of a fair amount of CAT5 cable and could probably spec out some hardware if you needed to build something from the ground up.

technology (web) — And sometimes I design web pages. Simplicity is key.
